There are three steps to implementing Pickax. You’ll want to give yourself a full morning to do the implementation, and you’ll
need to start by installing the PickaxDW database on your server, so make sure your IT department is ready to support you with
that:
Step 1: Register with 100Watt, using the form, below. We will email the download location to the email address provided in
your registration.
Step 2: Unzip the installation package. This package consists of 1 database (called “PickaxDW”) and 2 applications,
PickaxAdmin and PickaxViewer. You’ll need to “restore” the database to an instance of MS SQL Server (2005 or newer); the
Admin and Viewer can be installed on any computer with Windows XP.
Step 3: Configure using the PickaxAdmin program. This consists mostly of putting in exchange rates, doing your first import
(that requires pushing a button) and then setting up your chart of accounts.

If you haven’t already purchased, you can use your copy of Pickax for 30 days at no charge. After that time, only the “General”
tab will be available; go to the “Registration” section in the bottom right to enter your registration key after purchase.
